Bring your inner designer to life. Imagine being able to create jewelry for yourself and for gifts. You can do that with pearls and gemstone beads. Everyone learns. It's easy to demystify pearls, teaching you how to understand and recognize various types and qualities, making sense of why pearls can be $50 or $50,000. It's amazingly relaxing and creatively exciting when the rhythmic process begins. Imagination blossoms, in groups the conversations flow.
Pearls should be restrung every year or two, whether worn or not. Thread deteriorates, pearls become vulnerable to breaking and loss. Bring your strands for extra practice. Restringing will never harm pearls so cheap practice beads are unnecessary. In fact, handling your pearls instead of leaving them in a drawer is only going to make them more beautiful.
Price Includes use of tools and findings while doing the work, including thread, needles, and French wire. Bring your own pearls or beads or purchase from here.
Talk with me before the class if you want me to shop for a tool kit for you to take home, including various sizes and colors of French wire, needles, thread, clippers, flat nose pliers, needle nose pliers, pearl knotting tweezers, head pins, clasps, rings, spacers and more.
Let's also talk if you want me to shop in advance for pearls and gemstones for you to purchase. I generally have on hand a selection of affordable Freshwater pearls and beads in many shapes and colors, as well as clasps, centerpieces and more, but I want to tailor this to your budget and taste to make the experience perfect for you.
Would you like to shop in the jewelry district of NY city- - not as a retail customer or a wholesale buyer, but with me as a manufacturer/ designer? Let's go together to 47th Street and you can select your materials from an unimaginable abundance of choices. Book me here, and remember that we can not do these two adventures on the same day.
My technique is so easy that thousands of people have learned in a single day, including a 3 year old (see photos), a woman who had been told she is unteachable (no one who wants to learn is unteachable!), a woman with Parkinson men with giant, thick hands and fingers, and even a woman with only one arm. Let's find your inner designer and start creating.
To see just how easy, see the attached pearl stringing demonstration videos. Lots of people have learned from the videos alone, and they are free!
The price is for one person. Each additional person is $125. If you want more than 4 people, maybe 6, let's discuss a different venue as my studio is a typical NY studio - aka small.
