The uplifting symbolism I love about butterflies is accepting change, and that even the darker times are preparing us to fly. Is there someone in your life who will thrive with this message wrapped in beauty? Maybe you!
This particular piece is even more symbolic of re-birth. The only reason I have this is that while all the other pieces had been sold long ago, I had given this to my mother. She doesn't wear jewelry anymore and gave me everything, which is when I found this had a piece chipped off the wing. It sat broken in my drawer for another five years until I finally brought it to a stone cutter to see if he could cut new wings to fit the setting. He did much better: he was able to re-carve the original wings, and now they are perfect again: Jewelry re-birth!
More symbolism: The Butterfly Effect, mathematical proof that we are all so interconnected that if a butterfly flaps it's wings in the Amazon, in as little as 20 minutes it can create a thunderstorm in Hong Kong. In my interpretation, what we do to others, we do to ourselves, because there are no others. We are one.
