Tahitian Pearls on multi-strand brown and black suede cords on a magnetic clasp. The necklace is 17" when worn loose. It can be worn a little shorter by twisting the whole necklace like a torsade.
French Polynesia is the only place in the world where pearls grow naturally in these grey colors. Although they are known as black pearls, they are rarely truly black, but instead shades of grey (not just fifty) with reinfections of blues, golds, pinks, and more. I bought these pearls in Bora Bora. I bought the beautiful magnetic clasps in Barcelona and wish I had bought more- I can't find them here in NY city.
This is an interesting look. It's unusual to mix Tahitian pearls, which are generally seen as ultra-elegant, and use them with alternative materials like suede. These can be dressed up or down, and can be worn with anything from jeans, to work clothes, to a cocktail dress. It's funky and chic at the same time.
There are three versions of this multi strand necklace. Two are all Tahitian pearls, and $975.00 each. The third has a Tahitian center pearl, and the rest are White Chinese Freshwater Pearls, and is $550.00
